Sir: To quote R. Bainbridge (25 September): `I find myself in something of a quandarY, and should welcome the opportunity to air my problem in your columns.' What was Mr Bainbridge's real motive for writing such a ridiculous letter? To impress us all with his imagined sardonic drollery; or to boast of his imagined superiority in having `no wish to own a TV set'?
