SIR,—I would like to add my insignificent support to the

proposals of Miss Irene Ward for an investigation of the causes of this war. The proposals in question as put forward are so important that they should .have much wider publicity. Unless something along the lines suggested becomes a concrete fact, it seems not only possible but llkely that the present sacrifices will be in vain.—Yours faithfully.
