THE RING of bollards would have been a good idea (perhaps a better idea) if the IRA had never come to the City. What counts is to be in walking distance — which is why Barclays is moving back from its handsome Georgian house in the Mint to the curious mosque it is building in Lom- bard Street. Now that there will be no traf- fic to obstruct, I hope that the Corporation will relax its ban on taking glasses into the street. These are thirsty times.
