We are glad to say that the discussion which followed

showed a remarkable amount of agreement amongst the very representative women who took part in the Conference. Miss Hilda Oakeley, the head of the Women's Department of King's College—a body which by its admirable courses is taking the lead in this work—and Miss Faithfull, the dis- tinguished head of Cheltenham College, in speeches of remarkable force and ability, pointed out that the leaders in women's education are becoming fully alive to the importance of the matter under discussion. We hope before long that the women of England will, as far as their education goes, have prevented it from being any longer open to Herbert Spencer's accusation that our educational system is only designed for celibates.
