UNDERDOG CONFESSIONS

SIR,-1 have been asked by Messrs. Weidenfeld and Nicolson to edit a symposium of underdog con- fessions. The idea is that contributors, who may remain anonymous if they wish, should each write some five to ten thousand words on their own experi-

ence of a condition of mistreatment or supposed inferiority. The conditions may be racial, sexual, mental, criminal, physical or any other, provided that they satisfy the editorial demands for interest, intensity, humour or other qualities. Would anyone who feels inclined to contribute please communicate with me, before writing their contribution?—Yours faithfully,
