FOOD FOR DOGS.
[To Tax EDITOR or THE " SPECTATOR."' 8m,—Would it be possible for you or some of your readers to suggest how a dog may best be fed nowadays without being given food fit for human comsumption ? We have one dog—a sheep- dog—whom we have had for nearly ten years. His diet hitherto has consisted of puppy-biscuits and meat, and for many months past we have given him only that meat which is unsuitable far human consumption. But the problem with regard to the biscuits is more difficult, and is one which must arise shortly in practically every household where a dog is kept. Now thiit the manufacture of dog-bi.scuits has been prohibited the supply will soon cease. Is there any permissible substitute? There must be many hundreds of dog-lovers who, like myself, would most grate- fully welcome any helpful advice.—I am, Sir, &e.,
