Frederick Temple: an Appreciation. By E. G. Sandford. With, Biographical

Introduction by W. Temple. (Macmillan and Co. 4s. net.)—What has been done in this volume is to reprint the last of the seven parts which constituted the "Memoirs of Arch- bishop Temple," published last year, and to introduce it by a biography in which selections from the other six parts are given, together with some independent recollections, &c. Tho idea is a very good one. Archdeacon Sandford's "Appreciation" deals with the man as he was, so to speak, in himself. In this all readers, it may be said, will find a common interest, while the special description of his work as schoolmaster or Bishop may appeal to them less strongly. The very moderate price, too, will be observed. The pages number three hundred and eighty-four.
