A Band of Three. By L. T. Meade. (Iebister.) —The

" three" are three daughters of two itinerant musicians, the father an English- man, the mother Italian ; and a very pretty story it is that Miss Meade makes out of their experiences. Dulcie is the eldest, careful and prematurely aged, Peachie the beauty of the family, and Angel the darling of her sisters.' The dramatic element of the tale is sup- plied by the adventure of this little one, when she is kidnapped to be turned into a theatre fairy. This is a particularly well written and effective story.
