PEZIZA COCCINEA

SIR,—In "schoolroom days," long ago, we frequently found the red cup fungus in the narrow valleys of that part of the Cotswolds situated between Gloucester and Bristol. Growing in damp hedgerows on a fallen moss-covered twig it was a charming sight. We had no name for it —Yours faithfully, C. A. PHILPOTT. z Polyphant Cottages, Padstow, N. Cornwall.
