you for the article "Drink and Economy " which I read in last Saturday's Spectator. I can endorse every word of it, and, as a medical man, add that the far-reaching consequences of alcohol as a factor in the pro. duction of diseases are incalculable. I have no hesitation in saying that if we could once and for all be rid of this potent cause of social, moral, and physical ruin, the cost of this terrible war would have been amply justified. I hope to see more such articles until this crying evil and disgrace is abolished.—
