HELPING THE EX- PRISONER.

[To the Editor of the SPECTATOR.] SIR,—We understand that the Central Discharged Prisoners' Aid Society is endeavouring to secure a guaranteed increase of income of at least £500 for three years.

As we are fully convinced that the regeneration of the criminal is a work of the utmost importance to the State and humanity, and that this Society is furthering that work by every possible means, we cordially recommend their appeal.—We are, Sir, &c.,
