Various Relief Funds have been opened. Besides the Lord Mayor's

Fund,. there are the FUnds of the Mayors of Westminster, Lambeth and Hammersmith, and Mr. Edward Strauss has opened a fund for Southwark. On Monday it was decided that relief .should be distributed in the main from the Lord Mayor's Central Fund, although Contributions to the local funds will be encouraged. At Millbank, Lambeth and Hammersmith, in particular, the breached walls were temporarily repaired and gradually reinforced. There was a sequence of particularly high tides after Saturday morning, but there was no further flooding. The repaired walls stood the strain.
