The offers of help from the Dominions have been a

cause of intense pride and satisfaction in the United Kingdom. Canada, besides placing her ships unreservedly at the disposal of the Admiralty, is raising an Expeditionary Force of over twenty thousand men, with the intention of increasing the number as may be required. The Commonwealth of Australia has made an exactly similar offer of ships and men. So also has New Zealand, except that she is unable, as one can easily understand, to raise more than eight. thousand men as a first instalment. The women of Canada are sending a hospital ship. Canada is also sending presents of a million bags of flour and a million bushels of oats.
