The ludicrous UN

From Mr Oleg Gordievsky Sir: Analysis of the 20th century's history makes me entirely agree with Mark Steyn's conclusions ('Let's quit the UN', 8 February). The UN's foundation rests on hundreds of resolutions, sponsored and forced by Khrushchev, Nehru, Mao, Sukarno and Castro, directed against the West, particularly against the USA, Britain and Israel. To regard the UN as the source of international law is utterly ridiculous. Do we really want the future foreign and security policy of Britain (and the USA) to be dictated by France, Germany (with its awful Joschka Fischer), China. Syria and Libya?

The sooner we leave the UN, or just put it on a negligible level of priority, the better.
