Cryptogram Gone Wrong

SIR,—May I point out to Mr. P. John that the error which he ha: detected in my analysis, so far from invalidating my theory, actually' corroborates it ? It is an unwarranted assumption that the subconscious possesses a superhuman impeccability. If, therefore, Janus himself was capable of a deviation from accuracy of one hundred, it is inherently probable that his subconscious should miscalculate to the extent of ten. I consider that I was justified in admitting this probability, though the space at my disposal did not allow me to call attention to so trivial

a detail.—Yours faithfully, R. KENNARD DAVIS. On-the-Hill, Pilton, Shepton Mallet, Somerset.
