IN A LETTER to the Editor Mr. A. W. Kingsley,

of the National Federation of Retail Newsagents, taxes me with being one- sided in my criticism last week of the Federation, concerning its treatment of Hulton's Sunday Star. if I was, it was because at the time of writing last week no information was available on the subject from the retailers' side. Still, I agree with him that the whole blame, in this case' ought not to be placed on them. The Newspaper Proprietors' Association is blameworthy too. In defence of its monopoly interests, it is as potentially dangerous a 'ring' as any in the country. Certainly it is one of the associations most requiring investigation, when the new Restrictive Practices Bill gets on to the Statute Book.
