See,—As against " Ignotus's" " guess at truth " re the Irish and the Irish problem, will you set this ? I bad it several years ago from a Scottish nobleman (fallen in France); and he hod it (I think, and at first hand) from Lord Castletown. The latter had asked Lord Morris on one occasion what he made of the Irish problem. "It's quite simple," was the reply; "it's a quick-witted, nimble-minded race governed by a stupid race; and—the thing can't be done." I think you will fold that Lord Morley, no more an Irishman than I am, canto to the some conclusion regarding the wits of the races.—I ans. Sir, Ac.,
