Mifflin, and Co., Boston and New York.)—Mr. Lowell saw Note on the map, looking attractively out of the way in the extreme west of Japan, determined to go there, and, on the whole, did not regret his determination. He saw some curious things on the way there and back. Perhapi the feature of the journey was the "Inland Sea," which the traveller traversed in a steamer This is a pleasantly written little volume.
