The Year - Book of Commerce, 1892. Edited by Kenric B. Murray.

(Cassell and Co.)—This volume is compiled under the authority of the London Chamber of Commerce, and contains, in addition to the editor's work, contributions from various experts, English and foreign. It is full of interesting details, while its general conclusion seems to be that, for the present at least, there is no decline in English prosperity. Taking, for instance, the table of average consumption of imported commodities on p. xi., we find that it has increased from about 50 lb. in 1865 to 85 lb. in 1891. This is excluding all articles that can be produced in this country, so that it cannot be said that the foreign articles are driving out the home-made. We have also received The Year- Book of the Episcopal Church of Scotland (Masters and Co.)
