Messrs. Eyre and Spottiewoodo are the first in the field

this year with their Christmas and Now Year's Cards. They send us a considerable variety of cards, some Scriptural, some poetical, some purely orna- mental, and also a few texts and mottoes for school feasts,—all of them effective in their way, though the painting is hardly as delicate as that of some of the best work of this kind in previous years.
