Magic Dominions. By Arthur F. Wallis. (Smith, Elder and Co.

3s. 6d.)—Eight capital fairy stories are comprised in this book. The scenes are laid in Oriental lands of mystery, not unlike the countries of the Arabian Nights. The characters are kings, princes, balladmongers, barbers, pirates, and so forth, with a genie or fairy to help in putting right the wrong. They are full of just the right whimsical originality, and the language hardly ever lapses from the simplicity and directness proper to fairy stories. There are five illustrations by Mr. Claude Shepperson which are quite in the right spirit.
