THE NAMES OF FLOWERS [To the Editor of the SPECTATOR.]

Sre,—Writing for the Spectator of all papers, correspondents should be sure of their facts, and rose growers cannot con- gratulate Mr. Geoffrey Dearmer on his statement in the article, " The Names of Flowers." Irish Glory and Irish Modesty are not tea roses, and have not a single qualification for that class. And Gruss Teplitz was produced twenty-nine years ago ! Hardly a new rose.—I am, Sir, &c., Avonmore, Stillorgan, Co. Dublin.
