OTHER NOVELS

Peter Intervenes. By Edgar Jepson. (Herbert Jenkins. 7s. 6d.)-A boy of twelve protects pleasant thieves and baffles crooks in this book. There is really very little to choose in point of morals between the boy, an agreeable amateur female thief, and the unattractive professionals. Without wanting to be priggish, we must confess that stories of this sort paint serious crime in colours which are much too rosy.
