BOOKS FOR CHILDREN.

An invasion of Fairyland. By Alice E. Massy-Beresford. With pictures in colour by Jeannie McConnell. (Elkin Mathews. 7s. 6d. net.)-War and loss and sorrow are gently and sympathetically touched on in these verses, in which the invaded countries are symbolized as Fairyland. Tho little poem ends somewhat abruptly with a promise of comfort " to the widows and orphans of the invaders." The illustrations are pleasing.
