BANK AND INSURANCE SHARES.
I am glad to see that the Trust of Insurance Shares has issued a new and enlarged edition of its Bank and Insurance Shares Year Book. This is the second year of publication, and the first volume has proved its usefulness. The book contains a series of analyses of the accounts of 94 British Banks and Discount Companies and Insurance Companies for the past seven years, while it also contains a complete record of share prices, dividends and yields over a period of twenty-one years. There is also a Directory of Directors of British Banks and Insurance Companies, and not the least interesting feature of the new volume is an article on the attractions of Insurance shares and an Actuary's examination by Mr. A. C. Thorne of the net yield obtained by investments in the shares of 28 Insurance companies over a period of fifteen years.
