Readers are invited (for the usual prizes) to submit a

letter of protest by any one of the following, addressed to a journal of his day, guilty of an unfavourable review of one of his works: Byron, Coleridge, Ben Jonson, Macaulay, Pope, Swift. Limit 150 words.

Entries must be addressed to the Spectator, 99 Gower Street, London, W.C.1, in envelopes marked 'Competition,' and must be received not later than March 2nd. Results will be published in the Spectator of March 12th.
