UNSETTLED MARKETS.

THE Stock Exchange has passed through a most unsettled wyek. At um time gilt-edged securities were dull mainly for the reason that attention was diverted to the speculative markets, the' rise in commodity prices in New York and the advance in- speculative shares -obtaining a full response here. These conditions, however, were again changed by alarm with regard to the situation- in Germany, and on Monday prim gave way in every department of the House. On Tuesday a better feeling again prevailed, and there was a fairly general rally, though until there is a more assured feeling, with regard to political conditions in Europe the stock markets seem likely to continue unsettled.
