Bigger and worse

THE Stock Exchange's old-fashioned film My Word Is My Bond has acquired what appears to be an up-to-the minute sequel, entitled, simply, The Big Bang. Available from Entertainment in Video, a company based in Soho Square, The Big Bang is being promoted as raunchy, wickedly witty and much better than An American Tail. Even the Financial Times (which I must have failed to read thoroughly on the day) is quoted in praise of the film's 'gale-force jokes'. A clue to the nature of those jokes Comes from the colourful sketch on the advertisement, which shows a two-tier space rocket blasting off at maximum elevation. Who, though, is the un-named figure described as the world's most over- sexed, spaced-out superhero? I can think of a number of candidates, too libellous to mention. Perhaps they will join me in planning the next film — Big Bang II? Son of Big Bang? Or, in deference to the cheery membership of the Association of International Bond Dealers, My Word, My Bond?

We apologise for the incorrect setting of the main headline to Christoper Fildes's col- umn last week. It should have read 'The docks' scenic trams lose their driver — and the banks won't travel'.
