Selections from Plato. Edited by T. W. Rolleston. (W. Scott.)

—Mr. Rolleston includes portions of the "Phaedrus," the " Re- public," the " Hippias Major," and the " Symposium," together with the whole of the "Apology," "Crito," and " Phaedo," adding the seventh of the Letters, which he considers to be genuine,—a conclusion which one would gladly accept, considering how in- teresting a document it is. This genuineness, however, is very doubtful. As a whole—and it is difficult to separate them in any critical estimate—the Letters are scarcely worthy of Plato.
