A CHEERFUL TONE.

UNCERTAINTY with regard to the Budget proposals caused some restriction in business in the Stock Markets at the end of last week, and -at the beginning of this week, but on Wednesday following the Budget a good tone characterized all departments of the _House. British Funds and kindred stocks were favourably affected by the reduction in the Income Tax, and industrial shares also improved on the idea that general business was likely to be stimulated.
