The Chinese have been compelled to "complete. delivery of the

Kowloon extension, but not without the use of a force of some two thousand soldiers, sailors, and Marines, who were despatched from Hong-kong. On Tuesday the British flag was hoisted by the British General at Kowloon City, and a Royal salute was fired. It is possible there stil may be a certain amount of local disturbance, but it is ncsts likely to be of a grave character. The bays and inlets in the. new territory make it very easy to use gunboats.
