AN OLD-FASHIONED RHYME.

[To THE EDITOR OF THE "SPECTATOR.")

Sin,—Can any of your readers help me to find an old- fashioned rhyme on the Kings and Queens of England beginning :-

" William the First, as the Conqueror known,

By the battle of Hastings ascended the throne ; His Acts were all made in the Norman tongue, And at eight every evening the curfew was rung "

I shall be grateful for any assistance you may kindly give me.
