Unfortunately the Returns of our foreign trade for the month

of November were again most discouraging, especially as regards the exports, which showed a decline for the month of over £3,000,000, while there was a small increase in the value of imports, so that the visible adverse trade balance of nearly £37,000,000 was £4,633,000 worse than for the same month of last year. For the first eleven months of the present year the visible adverse trade balance was £342,000,000 as compared with £321,000,000 for the same period of 1928.
