HOW TO HELP EUROPE

Sm,—On every side we hear of the crying need of Europe for food and clothes. Are we so over-organised that the individual response to this cry is stale-mated? There are many in England who for different reasons are unable to make more sacrifice than they are officially called upon to make. But there are many others who are willing and anxious to make a contribution in kind, of clothes or clothing coupons, or of food, either by accepting a cut in their weekly ration, or by surrendering points, or by foregoing their promised extra Christmas ration.

(a) What provision is made for them to do so?

(b) How much publicity, is given to this provision?

On behalf of a widely representative group who believe this matter to be vitally urgent.—Yours faithfully, AUDREY M. BOURNE. West Winds, Reigate.
