Silt,—Last year you were good enough to publish some letters

• of mine on the above subject, which, judging from the number of questions I received from many seem to have proved interesting. May I say, in continuation of the subject, that the rooks have appeared in the same place this year; but, whereas last year they came with great din and proclamation and. quarrelling as then described, this year they literally sneaked in by degrees, and. commenced to build quietly- without the slightest noise F Can it be that the hardships of the winter and the present cold have been too much for them, and have
