The President of the Royal Academy ( Sir MARTIN SHEE),

in his late address at the distribution of the prizes, laments the apathy of the students in the department of Architectural Design, and expresses hiMself at a loss to divine the cause, especially as Sir JoHN SOAVE'S lectures were read to them last season. If that were all the instruction required by students, he would have cause for surprise. There is no other sort afforded in the Academy in that branch of study ; and before last year, the students had not had the advantage even of that show of tuition for several seasons.
