PRUNING KNOW-HOW

Pruning is regarded as a technical business by some people, and there is no doubt that an expert is the man for the job. On the other hand, experts are scarce and the know-how can he had from most good gardening books. Methods vary with different trees and bushes, but one thing is common in all pruning. The tools must be sharp, the cuts clean and, where the saw is used, the wound must he dressed with tar or white-lead paint.
