RELAPSE AND RECOVERY.

THE Stock Markets during the past week have experienced both a relapse and a recovery. The former, which was specially pronounced in English Railway stocks, was due to extensive realizations by speculative operators before the commencement of the fortnightly settlement Iasi Monday. When the settlement actually commenced, how- ever, it was found that in places there was a shortage of stock. and Home Railways, which had fallen heavily for some few days, experienced quite a .substantial sally.
