The following figures refer to past and present students of the four affiliated colleges in the University of New Zealand :- Serving at the front or in camp .. .. 1135 Killed in action 96 Wounded (number from one college not given) 63 Holding commissions .. 349 Members of teaching staffs .. 16 Included in the above are eight New Zealand Rhodes scholars, two of whom, Sergeant Alan Wallace and Lieutenant Athol Hudson, have been killed in action."
