It is more than probable, that, agreeably to the opinion
we ex- pressed last week, the offers of resignation of BoLiyAn. will terminate on this occasion, as they have on former occasions, by his reappoint- ment as President, with all the attributes of monarchy save the name. The bases of a new constitution have in the mean time been agreed on; one of the most remarkable of which is, that no public worship but the Roman Catholic shall be permitted throughout the States of Colombia. Such is the liberality of republicans ! BOLIVAR and the priests seem to be on the best possible terms ; the Bishop of Antio- gum has issued a pastoral letter, in which he recommends the clergy to preach in his favour.
