Speaking at the dinner of the London Sooiety on Tuesday,

Sir Aston Webb, RA., drew an attractive, if fantastic, dream. picture of London in 2014. From the city of his dream smoke and dirt were banished, there was salmon and trout fishing in the Thames, and London Bridge was a street with fine shops and beautiful houses on either side. St. Paul's was still standing and was safe for centuries, embankments lined both sides of the river, Southwark was rebuilt with flat-roofed houses, and a green square with a statue to Sir William Richmond erected in gratitude by the Government.
