Sin,—I think the following example of the way in which Canada is " throwing off the yoke " is worth recording. "J . H. M." went to Canada when a boy, settled there, married, and had three daughters and one son. Each daughter married, two of them having one son each and the other two. The son and all four grandsons—i.e., all the males in the family—have joined the colours and are now on Salisbury Plain. No doubt other examples could be cited. Can any
