REPORT ON GYMNASTICS.—" The exercises set were the usual passing-out

exercises for recruits at the termination of their course of gymnastics, and were most creditably performed by the Company. The average number of marks obtained was extremely high, and every man in the Company succeeded in obtaining more than half-marks. All the exercises were performed with precision and accuracy, and the majority of the men would have had no difficulty in performing more advanced work. I considered that the men's physique was remarkably good, and gave evidence of their ability to perform feats of considerable endurance.—CEcu, K. HUTCHISON, Lieut. Coldstream Guards."
