LOVE FOR THREE ORANGES

SIR,—Why does Mr. Martin Cooper say on p.723: "After more than thirty years the music of Prokofiev's first opera, Love for Three Oranges, has reached this country via the Third Programme " ? I heard this opera broadcast by the BBC (I think in a translation by Edward Agate) as long ago as the summer of 1935, which was considerably less than fifteen years after its first production in America.—Yours faithfully,
