My Curates. By a Rector. (Skeffington and Son.)--We cannot think

that books of this kind serve any good purpose. They are not amusing; they are not instructive; they are almost certain to give offence. If the writer could have given us somehow his last chapter, " What I would like my Curate to be," without those that precede it, we should have had nothing but praise for him.
