[To ma EDITOR ox THE "SPECTATOR."] SIR,—Re Mr. Fortune's letter in your last week's issue, surely it is well known that the apparent increase in the size of both the sun and moon is due to the greater density of the atmosphere through which they are seen when nearer to the horizon.
