Motoring Notes

NEW WARNING SIGN.

. There is hardly a motorist in the country who has not at some time or another in the course of his driving encountered a danger spot which is quite exception& in character. Such danger spots are usually well known to motorists living in the district, but to the stranger they constitute a very real menace, and are all too frequently the scenes of serious accidents. The ordinary road danger sign is so freely dis- played, and often with such little discrimination, that motorists are apt to regard it with indifference, thus further aggravating the danger at those spots referred to above. Because of this the R.A.C. has very wisely decided to issue a special danger sign for use only where the danger is hidden and of an excep- tional character. The sign is of enamelled iron, is two feet square, and bears the words, " Danger, Use Extra Caution," in white letters on a red ground.
