Preparations are beginning to be made for the grand tournament

at Eglinton Castle, to be given by the Earl of Eglinton in September next. Among the paraphernalia of' the pageantry already procured, is the splendid gold and silver carpet that was laid under the throne at the Coronation of our present Sovereign, also other articles of the same costly character ; so that no pains or expense are being spared to render the affair the most imposing that has taken place in Scotland for many centuries,— Edinburgh Courant.
