We note with interest the presentation on Monday to President

Wilson of a congratulatory address from the munici- pality of Carlisle, where the President's maternal grandfather, the Rev. Thomas Woodrow, held a living for many years and where his mother was born. The address was presented at the White House by Sir Cecil Spring-Rice, the British Ambassador, whose restoration to health is also a matter for sincere congratulation.
