With the " Green Jackets." By J. Percy Groves. (Griffith,

Farran, and Co.)—This story of the adventures of an officer in the "Rifles" is better written, we think, than Mr. Groves's former stories, and is readable from the first page to the last, full of incident, a great deal of which has the further advantage of being historical. Life in the Peninsula and at Monte Video are both equally well done, and the actual fighting is done most realisti- cally. There are one or two weak points in the plot ; but one forgets this when the hero describes himself, his friends, and his adventures so circumstantially. As a story of civil and military adventure, With the " Green Jackets " is as good as any similar tale we have seen lately.
